RRA is back in the 1911 game again, but it's not a traditional 1911, it uses a polymer frame that has a steel frame similar to a 2011 and a polymer grip frame. the fit on the show model isn't as tight as the previous 1911's that RRA has produced, but they are looking to keep this under $1000 (hoping to get close to $800) and supposedly no MIM.

I will be interested to see pics of them for sure. With the frame being similar to a 2011 is it a double stack?

I don't like bad mouthing anything I haven't laid hands or eyes on in person but this one does remind me of the .22 cal 1911s I have seen.

I've been hoping someone would produce a polymer-framed single-stack 1911, so I'm glad to see someone stepped up. I think it bodes well that it was a company like Rock River instead of a funky import where the concept would forever be associated with the initial level of quality.

I think there's a lot of opportunity in a polymer-framed single-stack, as far as grip texturing options and whatnot. I'd like to handle one of these when they start coming out, as I think there's merit in trying new things. :thumb:

I like it. I'll have to handle one when they start showing up in stores.

I forgot to add that the gun also comes with a holster and magazine pouch. the holster looks similar to a Blackhawk Serpa.

Is this a Springfield/ Rock river collaboration?

Thanks but no thanks RRA...pissed they left me hanging with steel frames. Too bad they couldn't put that effort into reviving those.

The RRA guy that i spoke with told me that they have some frames left, and that the polymer is for their return and to test out the 1911 waters (again), so if all goes well, we might see RRA's again.
