Who has an interest in something like this?

I have some mixed feelings about it. It doesn't make much sense as a defensive gun and it is too small for hunting varmints or target work. Still I bet Ruger will sell a bunch of them...

If it is reliable would be great gun to hand your wife, daughter or others that that are recoil sensitive and /or don't shoot much. Ideal, no but better than nothing and just about everybody runs when shot at especially when they have a hole or two in them. Beats nothing at all for sure.

I'm sure them that collect that style of Ruger will be attracted to it, and there's nothing wrong with it. Ruger is in the firearms business, they want to keep them cash registers ringing. It's capitalism in the greatest nation on the planet.

I got one or two useless guns in my safe cause I like them, I suspect few others would.

The only thing better than a very similar gun in .22 is a .22 caliber slide kit that fits on your carry gun. With a .22 kit I can afford to shoot my High Power all day long! A kit for my KelTec P-11 makes it almost fun to shoot.

I get that it is a training gun. The concept isn't new.

Just surprised the trainer is based on the LCP and not something like the American or SR1911.

Yeah it shouldn't surprise me that the LCP is a top seller. Good price. Small size. A good combination of features.

It makes sense that Ruger would make a training version. The 380 isn't bad but it probably isn't the best choice for teaching a new shooter...
