I think that one will be very manageable with .38 +P. I’ve got a 640 pro .357 and while not fun to shoot with full power .357 loads it is much more tolerable than the M&P 340 I had with the scandium frame. An all stainless J frame makes a difference for the heavier loads. I also like the lack of a lock on the 640 pro and being hammerless I can get my grip closer to the centerline of the bore for recoil control.

I’m very fond of the older 3” model 60s. But I’ve found J Frames to be just too small for any range session that exceeded two cylinders of ammo. Just not enjoyable for me. One of those carry a lot & shoot a little guns.

I’m a firm believer in S&W K Frames (the Goldilocks of Wheelguns).
