WOW, my first gun was a 64 and I still have it, this would make a great present to myself!

Holy :poop: that’s a nice looking revolver!!

How did shaving the inch off affect the handling for you? I love 3 inch K frames

Although I said I would never, ever mod my Dads final revolver purchase, a trip he and I made together in late 70s produced a gun exactly like your donor. I inherited it after he passed. Like new condition, Dad never saw the value in saving boxes. Hhhmmmm…

    Congratulations on a fine piece

It's the only 3" K-frame I have, but I like it a lot. I especially like the addition of the fiber optic front sight.

She shore is purdy! My second issued duty weapon was a 4" 64. It replaced a well worn; but delightful to shoot Model 15. I'm really partial to Kim's grips on all my wheelguns.

I had a 19 cut down to 3 inches and the bowen custom front sight milled into the gun. I have to say I like the way the fiber optic looks on your gun a bit better. M193inch.JPG

Anything you would have done different to it?

There are still plans to bob the hammer. We just figured we would wait until Dave had some other things needing to go out for hard chrome and do it then. Other than that, I like her just as she is.

A late response here, been away for a bit, but that is absolutely stellar! I'm on the hunt for a 64 3" NY-1 revolver (have a buddy with some great NYPD connections that's helping to find it).

3" K frames are wonderful revolvers. Hope you get lots of enjoyment out of shooting that one!

Yes, Dave and I have known each other since we were kids, and live less than a mile away from one another. I'm at his shop bugging him quite often. His website is extremely outdated and doesn't really reflect the work he's doing now. His Facebook page is much more representative.
