Picked up a numbers matching .455 Triple Lock this afternoon!

The serial number is 489 and the barrel isn’t marked with the caliber but per the markings and S/N I believe it is part of the British Military contract. I believe the date of manufacture should be right around 1910

The bore and cylinder are bright and shiny and the action has that pre war smoothness that we all love. The gun hasn’t been converted to 45 colt either. Anyway here are a few pictures.

Barrels for British contract guns were not marked. Neat old revolvers. Now get some ammo and enjoy.

This is one will look good next to the .44 spl Triple Lock. I would love to fine a factory 4 inch.

A 4" one like this? Excuse the poor pix, don't have time to get in better light.
This belonged to a Mississippi sheriff in the 1920's who carried it in a leather back pocket holster. Sweat caused a few character marks on it. 20150123_124031.jpg

Congrats on a nice catch. I've had a triple lock on my list for quite awhile but never found the right one at the right time.

Timing is truly everything... For me it’s usually easier to find that grail gun, than having the disposable income available at that given moment.

Isn't that the truth?!? The two very rarely coincide...
