Acquired this 1973 satin nickel Combat Commander yesterday at a gun show.

Super nice condition - appears to have very little use.

Included the box with the instruction manual, warranty card (never filled out), a warning card about the delicate finish and the brown wax paper.

Looks great. Any plans for it other than shooting. I would leave as is.
I'll only replace the springs and shoot it.

This is my exercise in pistolsmithing:

1991A1 - Wilson Combat ultra light match trigger, beaver tail grip safety, tactical thumb safety, bullet proof extractor ~ Cylinder & Slide ultra light hammer set ~ EGW barrel bushing set ~ Ed Brown snakeskin mainspring housing with maxi-well ~ Novak gold bead front sight and wide rear sight.

I like it! Vintage. :thumb:

A warning card about the delicate finish surprises me, though!

Took it the range on Friday, fed four magazines of FMJ through it, worked perfectly.

The pistol probably hadn't been shot in over 30 years, I disassembled and lubed it before I shot it.

This gun is tight, very little play in the slide (much less than my 1991A1), the bushing has zero play in the slide and the barrel od measures .001" less than the bushing id.

An interesting note - the slide is cut away exposing the extractor.

Awesome vintage Colt! I love the satin nickel finish. Real nice 1991A1 too. I wouldn't mind hanging on to them for you. (Just for safekeeping of course.):biggrin1:
