Our city has received a $500K+ Federal grant for the purpose of registering fired cases to their respective guns/owners.

The cover story is; "this will better help in matching STOLEN guns to crimes, while enabling us to return these guns to their owners".

Call me cynical; I will rot in HELL before I bring fired cases from my firearms to the authorities.
I can picture walking into the Police Station with a pillow case full of fired cases....... Right.

    Curious what your thoughts are.

Take them in all the .22lr casings you can find.

Just shows how stupid politicians actually are. They put onerous restrictions on the public and will probably provide enough funding to check 100 casings per month.

Go to your local outdoor range with a magnet and collect up all the steel case you can find. Backlog them for years.

Our (relatively) new Chief of Police is a Left Wing snowflake that panders to the minorities here; picnics in the park in summertime, a "can't we all just get along?" thing.

    No, we can't- and won't.
Enforce the effing laws, quit whining and act like the Alpha dog you were hired to be.

Well, the stolen gun will likely have its serial number defaced and they won't return it anyway. My brother had a pistol stolen in Aurora Illinois and it was recovered in Florida. The Sheriffs Office in Florida contacted APD and confirmed recovery and that they would return it after prosecution. Later, after awhile had passed, he checked on it and they denied ever recovering it. He did not pursue it but I would have. APD had a fair amount of documented correspondence. He was probably talking with the jerk who destroyed it. In my brothers case the serial number was not defaced.

Politicians are not stupid. They know what they are doing. These socialist/communists want to get your guns anyway they can. Pass any stupid law they know will not work to disarm us..

Maryland dropped the cartridge case they had for years. They came to the conclusion that it rarely if ever helped in solving crimes and it was a huge waste of money!

I guess I do not understand the logic here at all. How did they plan to "register" spent casings to a specific owner's firearms? The absolute stupidity of this is mind blowing and still some US Senator from Kansas managed to cornhole in a $500K earmark into a spending bill to support it... :bang:

Sorry to hear of Wichitas' left leaning. What many have said, politicians aren't stupid, just snowflakes of a different color. This law can't accomplish a thing, except spend money and provide talking points.

I didn't know matching the case to the gun was all that reliable. Are we sure they are not swabbing the cases for DNA?

As far as politicians not being stupid ...idk ... They are stupid enough to think we'll believe all this nonsesne

Dunno man, it get very complicated in here, what with all the voices arguing with themselves over who's in control . . . . .

I just remind them who's boss. When the voices get too loud, I go ask my wife if I can buy a new gun.

That has them all soiling their imaginary diapers and cowering for cover . . . . .

It's not. It's extremely labor intensive, and you need to have an existing database of casings used in crimes to start with.

Turning in "random" casings that you picked up from a range trip would throw the whole system into chaos. You could say you picked up everything you could find, but there were so many previous casings on the floor how could you be sure all were yours?

    "Yeah, I own a .45 ACP but all those .40 S&W, 10mm, and .45 LC shells look all the same to me ossifer . . . . ."

Better get ready the Socialist have the house & promise an all
out assault on the Second Amendment. Not common sense gun laws, but the all out repeal of the Second Amendment.

As anyone who has a good education knows, the Socialist want a
disarmed Citizenry for one reason. The total enslavement of all free Americans by Armed Police & Military. This is not new &
has followed all populations being disarmed. Russia, China ETC.

The Socialist are Evil & willing to do anything to take over America. Just look at Fla. & witness a bunch of Socialist trying to change the outcome of a legal election. Fear not the Socialist but the other side who allows these Cretins to do this crap.

Republicans think they are acting like civilized human beings. The head Honcho of the Republicans in the Senate will not allow for a simple majority vote, because he says he fears that the Dems may use this. What does this Idiot think Harry Reid did the last time the Dems had the Senate?

Unless the opposition can find a pair & fight the Socialist with an
all out fight for Freedom. We can expect our Country to be destroyed. All this has happened before & History tells us the
Survival of the fittest is a fact of life. Today I see the Socialist
as being the fittest, willing to do anything to take America over.
