New to 2011s in general and building out a EAA gun, using a UFS (Unique Firearms Solution) grip, EGW internal kit. When putting together, the sear does not engage at all. Not sure if I need a longer spring or sear? Using the OEM grip, it contacts fine. Possibly needing to file the spring slot at the bottom so I can slide it up further?

Your new grip doesn't appear to be up against the frame all the way
Possibly needs more fitting to get the grip against the frame
Or
The grip needs to go back to UFS cause the slot is cut in the wrong position.
Send the photo's to UFS in the morning and see what they say.

Hello, I just wanted to clarify something, there were measurements pulled from 4 different grips (one being the ufs grip) to compare the sear spring slot. Between the 4 grips that were measured, the max difference in slot location between any 2 grips was 0.61mm or 0.020" of an inch. This is basically 2 to 3 human hairs. The difference some are seeing seems to be closer to 2.54 mm or 0.1" of an inch. It seems Girsan may be drilling there disconnector/sear pin hole higher up or some other issue. Has anyone else tried to put another brand of grip on the Girsan frame other than the ufs or stock oem Gursan grip? Also, we have not seen this issue on any other manufacturer's frames, only Girsan. Also, attached is images of a standard 1911 sear spring fit. Also, 2 other 2011 sear spring fitments which are using the ufs grip. As you can see, this seems to be a girsan issue.
