Series 70/80 rat tail grip safety

    One last part and I'm finished with my 1973 Combat Commander 9mm. I want to change the minute original grip safety with a Rat Tail style. Need a nice condition blued one.

    I was just thinking tonight. A liberal application of a "rat tail file" to the standard profile grip safety should yeild proper results.

    I wonder if that is how that profile got it's name? For sure it doesn't look anything like the hindquarters of a rodent.

    I do have a Colt with a rat tail grip safety to compare it against. This is starting to feel like an idea that is beginning to morph into an experiment.
