Selling my Colt Combat Unit 9mm this week, and looking for a replacement. Most likely going 45 with this one. I'm looking at DW, but also have a line on a Springfield/Lipsey's Combat Operator. Which of these two would you guys recommend?

If it's DW, which model? My max budget is around $1500. I'd appreciate any input!

I concur with the above posts... Valor all the way. I started with a TRP, which is a great gun in its own right, but... Lots of MIM parts, albeit well done, will eventually be replaced with forged parts (my scenario-YMMV), and after all is said and done, you could've had the Valor + some. Another option would be holding out for a great deal on a used Les Baer, but again... Could just buy a new Valor.... No matter the decision, it's tough to go wrong, it is however tough to choose! Good luck!

If you are going full size, I would recommend a Valor. You can upgrade it later!

But the question remains, what are you going to use it for?

I really like the Vbob and Specialist but have a question. Since I'm planning on carrying this from time to time, would I be better off going with a Guardian? Is the quality of the Guardian on par with a Vbob? Also, is the Duty treatment worth the extra money?
Sorry for all the questions, but I'm a DW newb lol.

I was actually going to suggest the guardian but only if it's for carry. The weight difference is much more noticable in all day carry than it sounds like it would be.

I was noodling on the same decision for some time to get back into DW after a very shot hiatus (without one in my safe). As I intend to carry it often, I landed on the Guardian. I know it is missing a few nice touches (sight differences, reverse crown, etc.) to me it gets you into duty-treat and has all of the right touches to me. It is missing some MSH checkering, but allegedly the grips square that circle, and if not, G10 is but a short order away from VZ in any of a dozen that will provide more than ample purchase.

I should have mine tomorrow or Friday with any luck!
