Hey all -
I'm checking out optics beyond just red dots and generally just trying to learn and see what's out there I haven't experienced. I'm super intrigued by the idea of a fixed 3X optic for this AR and I might pick one up to check it out.... Mostly because for me, a Red Dot AND a 3X... especially with the 3X swung out to the side, is just too much gear for me to comfortably mount.
I know the Trijicon 3X ACOGs were widely used in the armed forces, if not so widely loved.
One of my concerns is Eye-Relief and the general consensus of having a very unforgiving Eye-Box compared to even middling LPVOs.
I would love to hear from anyone who chose a prismatic optice for reasons OTHER than astigmatism, and what your experiences have been.
Anyone who's tried either the Vortex Spitfire 3X or the Swampfox Trihawk - I'd love to hear what you thought.... especially in regard to the Eye-Box
This interest may also just as likely pass....
;-)
