Shout Out to Harrison Design

So I decided to try one of their kits in my 10mm single-stack.

Extreme service ignition set, DLC slotted hammer, TR sear. #HD-120-B-TR

I did a minor brightening of the sear engagement surface on my ceramic bench stone, but otherwise just 'dropped them in'.

Thumb safety had slightly more interference fit that I am working in, but I may touch it up with a square white ceramic to finish the fitting.

Trigger pull lightened up slightly. Hammer release is sudden and pretty crisp for a tr sear. (I really need a new trigger gauge)

Now I am seriously considering this setup in the 2011. But that will have to wait a month or two.

Well done Harrison. (y)

I normally have to dress the secondary angle but other than that they’re drop-in.

When you say 'dress the secondary angle', are you increasing or decreasing the secondary angle for depth of engagement?
Increasing. I don’t think he does anything to them. My “guess” would be the radius is EDM’d and done. I drop them in and if I feel some creep I hit it with some marker and address the secondary until it at least 1/3 of the width.

I have one of John's ignition sets in my Springfield Milspec. The trigger pull is 3.75 lbs and it is the crispest and cleanest of any 1911 I've owned. I also have one of his TR sears in my 2019 Staccato P.
agreed. Helped me with pinning a front sight yesterday on my commander build. Great outfit
John is a class act…I have many of his parts in my 1911s and they are superb. Met him a few years back when I was in the area…. He was humble, cordial, welcoming, and full of knowledge. I will always buy from him and defer to his expertise.

Full stop!

Whether it's responding on a after hours or on a weekend. He's sets the bar when it comes to responsive service!
.....
Got a 1911 with some HD parts. I figured them to be some of the best. Now I know. Even more impressed to hear positive comments about the man behind them.
