Sig P220 SAO

I recently won a Sig P220 SAO on GB and am as anxious as one can be to get it delivered. It is not their Legion series, it appears to be one of their earlier production SAO models, full-size. I'm not new to Sig and have owned several in the past to include a standard DA/SA P220. I could never warm up to DA/SA triggers, I prefer single action triggers. I figure my rifles and shotguns have single action triggers, why should my pistols be any different?
I had owned a P220 Hunter in 10mm which was SAO, but it had a 5" barrel and steel frame, it was a large and heavy gun, but recoil was like that of a 9mm and was very accurate.
I have also owned a P229 and a P226, which I found to be large pistols when compared to 1911's or Glocks, but recoil was never prohibitive and they were all accurate, more accurate while shooting them SA over DA. I know training would help, but I just never liked the transition, I prefer the consistency, which I felt even Glock has over DA/SA.
Either way, sorry for the long post, just wanted to share what I think will be a great addition to my small 1911 stable.
Pics and range report to follow.

Sig put on a demo day at the local range. I admired the P226 Elite SAO but it turned out that it had been discontinued in favor of the Legion with straight trigger, funny color scheme, and COIN!

I looked long and hard at a new Legion P220 SAO, but didn't think I'd like the straight trigger and not sold on the grayish color. The coin would've just got tossed in a drawer or left in the case and forgotten about.
One reason I did not buy one. The other being the itty bitty slide stop lever which I already knew from a DA/SA Sig was not suited to my 1911 based handling.

Traded into one last month here. Added a straight trigger and has become my edc after several range trips. Looking at the newer Legion model as it is optics ready.

I own the P220 SAO Legion. Love the pistol, as much as I love most of my 1911's, including my customs.

Your helping me think I made a good choice!

I just picked it up today and am impressed! I'm not new to Sigs, but am just always taken aback by how well-built these things are, it's just a beast!
I plan to take it to the range tomorrow and have high expectations. I think I'll take my Vigil Commander along to see how they compare.

You should look at the SSE SAO
I finally got it to the range today and can say it did not disappoint, I was easily able to keep most of the rounds in the 6.5" black circle at 15 yards. It seems to have more pronounced recoil than I was expecting, but the sights came right back down on target. It ran like a top with no problems at all with both fmj's and hp's. The sao is it for me, I love it, great trigger and reset. It seems like a whole different gun compared to a DA/SA P220, the consistent trigger function just feels right to me. I've traded many a gun over the years, thinking at the time they were keepers, eventually trading them off, but I can honestly say this one is a keeper!
