The Macro is a nice gun. It has a lot of good features: fuller sized grip, higher mag capacity, "comped" barrel and optic ready. Probably the best feature is the 365 modularity (but all 365 models have that). If you need/like the larger Macro grip - go for it. As far as the "comped" barrel: it's a 3.1" with a "comped" extended slide. A good friend purchased a Macro last fall and we decided to do a side-by-side comparison to the P365, 365X and the XL. The comped Macro was only a bit softer shooting/less perceived recoil than the P365. We did not experience any recoil difference between the Macro, X and XL. Of all four 365's we both agreed that my 365X (only mods/upgrades are a Hogue Hand-All grip sleeve and an Armory Craft extended mag release) was the most comfortable to shoot. The XL was a very close second. The XL we used has the WC grip, Armory Craft extended mag, 15 round mag with the Tactical Development WC-style base plate. On the ride home from the range my friend tried talking me into a trade: the Macro slide/barrel/RSA for my XL slide. I politely declined. My XL checks a lot of boxes for me but in the final analysis the Macro would be a want rather than a need right now. But I'm thinking about it :). Now a Macro grip, Macro mags and an XL slide would be interesting.

I bought my wife an XL when they came out and have tried to leave it alone. I refuse to pay the prices of third party frames, but on arfcom I found a decent price on a macro frame and a couple of magazines. This has been a very good improvement. Even with the 15 round magazines I didn't like the grip as I could feel the magazine moving. Another huge benefit to me is that I can use a regular TLR-7A on this frame, which I have a few of. Some pics I snapped.

I decided to pick up the comped version to give them a head to head. I need to say up front that all I shoot is 147 grain. There are some reasons for this, first is that I get 147 HST issued so that's nice. Also I run a can so it's easier just to keep them all the same. That said, there was a noticeable difference with comped slide. I was able to keep the red dot inside an A zone much better. Watching the dot react was pretty cool. I was a little worried about accuracy. I shot both on a B8 and they scored within a point of each other, 95 and 96. Hopefully this information will help anyone considering one of these.

I really want to like the 365 line but I can't bring myself to. I owned a 365 that I bought a year after they came out for a year or two, my brother owns an XL, and have rented, shot, and handled a number of others, including the new XMacro. I can't get over how spongey the trigger is. I really wish I could, as they seem like great offerings with a lot of benefits, but I just can't get behind the trigger feel. And that includes their custom shop-esque FCUs with the gold triggers.

Went out again today for a few hundred rounds. This little guy just keeps me impressed with how well it does. From Bill drills to B8s it just does it all. I was carrying a full size M&P due to my hand size. Of course the weight of a full size gun helps when going fast, but the difference is minimal.

When dry-firing the trigger is odd on both my P365 and P320. Spongy is a good way to describe it. I shoot the P365 and then don’t notice the trigger sponginess. It’s a smooth spongy:)

Try the p365 Wilson Combat XL grip and you might not care how the trigger feels. Just about the perfect gun grip in my opinion.

Haven’t shot the P320 yet.

The appeal of the 365 XMACRO is that it is easier to shoot well than most sub-compact pistols. Practical accuracy is excellent. The pistol features low recoil and a 17-round magazine. Fortunately, the magazines fit older P365 pistols. I'll put my money on this type of handgun.

Ive been following these for a bit myself. If they release one with a manual safety or a company makes a shoe'd trigger for them I'll be more interested. I guess I'm a fudd now, but I cant get comfortable with the idea of carrying a single action release trigger with no safety of any kind.

ive got a hellcat pro/rds w/ trigger pack, baseplates and a tb/carry comp underway for subcompact purposes. Granted, its more of a 365xl competitor than a macro with the advantages/disadvantages therein.
