I am going to install either a set of SA loaded take-off Novaks or a new set of 10-8 U notch sights on a Springer of mine. My question is, if I go with the 10-8s, what would be the correct height rear and front? The fronts come in .175,.185, and .195. The rears come in standard and extra tall. What dimensions work the best? Or, is it a matter of choice?
This will be a new sight installation, my slide has a staked front and USGI rear now. Thanks for the help guys

depends on how it shoots :rofl2:

i have 5" guns that all have .325" tall rear sights, but have used .140"-.180" tall front sights.

Well, the gun shoots great now, but with the milling of the slide for dovetails I don't know what to choose. Does POA/POI have to be measured to get the right selection? I've never shot or used anything other than GI sights.

Or too save myself the hassle, since in the near future I'm going to replace the barrel, should I wait and have the sights milled and set then?
