What are some models that you wouldn't own by manufacturers you like?

    For example I love Springfield 1911's, but wouldn't NEVER own a XD/XDM.

    Other models:

    S&W Sigma
    S&W M&P
Taurus TCP, and other poly guns.
The HK.45 with the "spiderman grip"
    Any .45 Glock
No Colt Semi Autos at all. Would gladly own their revolvers.

There are tons I am forgetting, but I will add them as I remember.

damn now i gotta do some thinking.

No S&W Sigma and probably no 1911's from them. Just can;t rule out the E series commander.
No SA XDM, or even another XD, but would gladly own another 1911 from SA
No Colt XSE models EXCEPT the Combat Elite or Special Combat Gov. if it is in that category.
    Any other Glocks

I find these kinds of comments interesting and wonder...have you ever actually been shot with a 9mm? In particular, have you ever been shot by one with say, Remington Golden Sabers or perhaps Hornady TAP or Hydra-Shocks? If so, I would like to see medical and pictorial evidence of said wound(s) and know how it felt to be shot with it, and you may use the Mosby pain scale if you wish. Then I would like to know if you have ever been shot with a .45 of any kind...of course evidence will need to be provided...and then I would like to know what difference you have noticed between them... Then I would like to know if you have ever actually been hit by a flying 1911 and how exactly that felt in comparison to being shot, assuming you have been shot (which I doubt at this time by the way), and which actually, factually felt worse, being hit by a flying 1911, shot with a 9mm or with the .45... And of course if any of these three elements are missing your comments will be null and void based on a lack of experience, knowledge, understanding and wisdom.

Then and only then will I wade into the argument that has been settled for decades about which caliber is best based on this or that merit...because the bottom line is the best caliber is the one you have at hand when aggression strikes or the one you feel most comfortable hitting your target with when aggression strikes if you are just being prepared.

Me personally, I have never been shot, although I have looked down the barrel of a gun in a past life. But I do know a number of people who have been shot with various calibers and have talked with them at length about their different experiences...from .22 to 7mm Remington Mag, it was never a good thing...never...and the one with the .22 is the one that came closest to death believe it or not.

    End of soap box...

Now, regarding Trent's OP...well, conservatively I have owned over 400 guns of various makes, models and calibers. At one point my collection was over 220 pieces...then I sold most all of them to facilitate my "education". Personally I must say there aren't many I wouldn't buy just to have the experience of shooting them and taking them apart. Heck I even owned a GRENDEL P-10 .380 that you had to load from the top only cause it was cool and cheap! Guess I probably wouldn't ever buy a Lorcin or Hi-point or something like that....LOL!

    Hey Joe!!!!!
I too once owned a Grendel P10! It remains the only personally
owned gun I have ever sold.
As to 9mm vs 45, well you know what 'they' say:
    A 9mm might expand, but a 45 cain't shrink.
    LOL!

9mm 1911's never fail to put a smile on my face.
It looks like a 'real' gun, feels like a 'real' gun.......
then you press the trigger and it goes 'pop' instead of 'BANG'.

In a 5" steel gun feels lika mouse fart. LOL!

If I was inclined to carry a 9mm it would certainly be one that held more than 11rds.
