Hey all, looking at purchasing my first 2011. Not sure if i want to go with something factory compensated like the prodigy comp, or buying a standard model and having it ported. I live in NY so threaded barrels are a no no. I’ve never shot competition but would like to leave that option on the table if possible. I know compensated or ported guns are not legal in competition, but what if I swap in a factory non ported/comp’d barrel and the slide retains whatever cuts it has, does that make it legal for competition since the barrel isn’t modified and only the slide has a cutout? I assume yes since there’s no difference in performance as long as the barrel isn’t modified, slide cuts won’t really change anything.

USPSA Limited optics is a 9mm , optic ready pistol division they started to include all the new guns with optics
It allows slide cut through to the barrel but no Comps. Comps put you in open class
IDPA has carry optics where 1911/2011 optic guns can be used .
I don't know if you can have cuts on the slide through to the barrel, definitely no comps
