I'm 49, I've been shooting since I was a kid and have amassed a pretty good collection of wheel guns and 1911's.

I currently have about 20 1911's listed below.

    Two Stainless Colt Officers .45

    Blued Colt Lightweight Officer .45
    Sig C3
    Colt Wiley Clapp CCO .45
    Colt Concealed Carry Government .45
    Lightweight Stainless Commander .45
    Combat Commander .45
    Colt Combat Elite .45
    Colt Double Eagle .45
    New Agent in .45
    New Agent in 9mm
    Colt Stainless Defender 9mm
Colt Defender .45 Talo Stone Gray 1 of 300
    Colt Pocket Light .380
    Kimber CDP II

I keeping thinking that I'm missing some or that there are some gaps I. My collection of 1911's. I'm thinking I need a Gold Cup, A National Match and Colt Government .380 auto to fill out the stable. Maybe a Colt GI?

    Am I missing anything else?

    Mike

A Nighthawk or Guncrafter would be top of the list..

A FNG question. What does what does $3K production gun get me as opposed to Full House custom by Gregg Derr, Ted Yost or An Heirloom Precision? Are we discussing apples and oranges? Am I better of investing in one over the other?

Well depends on your budget Yost or heirloom looking upwards of 6-8K. But they are much nicer.. If your into classic 1911 I would also add JT Timmons to that list..

I just think you have plenty of the standard 1911s I would step up to the next level personally even if it took selling off some of the ones you already have..

    Don't see any semi-customs....

Or if you stick with Colt--a Special Combat Government

Yes, yes you are. Pictures of all of these ponies. So I can figure out which one I want to buy off of you so you can afford a Yost.

There is a big difference between and Colt and a Semi custom IMO. Like night and day for the most part..

I'll get Pic's up tomorrow. I've never had them out all at the same time.

Try something besides a colt or a Kimber.

You can take them out one at a time for pics.
That way you won't risk one running off while your not looking.

A very true statement, he could sell two or three colts to acquire one Wesson or all of his colts to acquire the other.

I'd sell a few. 3 or 4 and put the money towards a Guncrafter or Nighthawk from the classifieds. Or a Dan Wesson and a set of grips. The possibilities are almost endless.

That's what I did, and still do. I sold a pile of Kimbers and a few others to acquire a Guncrafter and a couple Wessons. Now moving forward with customs slowly. Currently looking into a build of my own. Perhaps I'll sell one or two more to get there. In the end, I'll have things unobtainable by others; as they will be spec'd for me.
