I received this from Sterling Archer. Very nice gun. Cleaned end relubricated. Placed in safe and not fired. This gun is a keeper. Missed 2 weeks at work due to back injury. Selling so no bills will be late.

    See original posting:

Sterling Archer ordered this directly from Dan Wesson's Custom Shop. Pistols made in their custom shop receive more attention and are commented on being noticeably more accurate than the production versions. There is not a wiggle to be found anywhere, it is by far the tightest and smoothest gun I've ever owned. This pistol feels wonderful in hand, especially if you like a high grip, and shooting it is a real pleasure. I've fired 925 rounds through it with 0 stoppages or malfunctions. I'm getting out of .45 so I am very sadly selling it.

I can't take a good photo of it to save my life. It's a super deep rich black and beyond my skills to capture. White specs are paper towel lint.

Please excuse the dog hair in the upper part of the trigger guard, that's not a scratch.

Dan Wesson Custom Shop CCO .45
    Stainless steel Commander slide
Stainless steel Officer frame <-- Steel frame, not aluminum.
    Ball cuts
    25 LPI front strap
    Under cut trigger guard
    Phase II dehorn
Flush cut and reverse crown barrel
    Plain black ledge rear sight
    Tritium front sight
    Recessed slide stop
    Short trigger
    3.75# trigger pull
    EGW Carry Bevel bushing
EGW flat-wire .250 guide rod and spring plug
    ISMI Commander flat-wire recoil spring
Wilson Bullet-Proof wide ambi thumb safety, trimmed right side lever
    Wilson Bullet-Proof slide stop
    Wilson Bullet-Proof Tactical mag release
    Smith and Alexander arched magwell

VZ Operator II grips (Beveled and Cerakoted)
Tuned for Tripp & Wilson mags.

You don't often see a magwell on a compact frame but I encourage you to try it. It only adds .25" in height but makes a big difference in feel. If you prefer no magwell or no arch a simple swap and you're set.

After receiving the pistol and breaking it in I sent it to Derr Precision for a little machining work. Since I had no plans on ever selling it I decided to have a couple parts added in. The factory bushing was finger turnable so I had a second one hand-fit tight. I also had a couple Wilson Bullet-Proof extractors tuned up. Needless to say this package is setup to run, and run, and run, with no maintenance down time.

    Derr Precision work-
    Blend magwell
    Line up ball cuts
    Bevel bottom edge of slide
    French Borders
Beavertail knuckle relief notches (Pictured below)
    Beavertail high grip mod
Reduce and blend thumb safety panels
    Wilson Bullet-Proof extractor, plus spare
New EGW Carry Bevel bushing, hand-fit for optimum accuracy

After returning from Derr I had it Cerakoted Graphite Black after learning that stainless steel and I don't get along. If you prefer stainless it's just a quick bead blast away. Never let it be said Cerakote covers imperfections, if you look at the below picture you'll see some type of line. Either done in production or when Derr was truing up the cuts, I don't know. It isn't visible when stainless but Cerakote found it.

There is also a knick around the slide stop hole. I would personally just use a little marker on it and make it disappear but didn't want to hide anything in the add.

    Additional parts it comes with-
1 - Tuned WC SS Bullet-Proof spare extractor
2 - Tuned DW spare extractors
1 - DW factory EGW Carry Bevel bushing, finger tight
    2 - DW 7-round factory mags
    2 - Wilson 8-round mags
3 - Tripp 7-round mags with aluminum baseplates
    2 - ISMI 22# Flat-wire Commander Recoil Spring
    1 - ISMI 20# Flat-wire Commander Recoil Spring
    1 - ISMI 18# Flat-wire Commander Recoil Spring
    1 - 22# Wolff Conventional Recoil Spring
    1 - 18# Wolff Conventional Recoil Spring
3 - Wolff Firing Pin Springs, Standard Power
    3 - Wolff 23# Officer Hammer Springs
1- Wolff 22# Officer Hammer Spring
1- Wolff 21# Officer Hammer Spring
1- Wolff 20# Officer Hammer Spring

Shot this group at 25 yards using Federal HST 230 grain. Just wish I hadn't thrown that flier or it would be under an inch.

I'm in this $3,500 with all work, parts and accessories. Sale price is $2,000. I'm taking a $1,500 hit so the price is firm and you're paying shipping.
