What are those Colts in the first two pics? They are officially my favorites now.

All of those are fantastic... but I guess I'm curious about the last pistol of post #1. Gorgeous also but not a long slide.

Was it included just to make someone ask? 🤣

Air gun Trigger Gun barrel Everyday carry Gun accessory

This was the only one I've ever had.
DW Kodiak 10mm, ambi safety changed to a single, flat trigger and trigger job and a gold bead front sight. All done by Alex Zimmermann of Guncrafter Ind. The trigger was amazing.

The long sight picture is great but my eyes aren't what they used to be.

I had an AMT Hardballer Longslide that also had a comp on it for a while. That was almost twenty years ago. The comp and long slide definitely made a difference, but it was an AMT so it was a POS. There's no way around it.

For me, I think the longslide 1911 is cool and has a place, especially in chamberings like 10mm or maybe .357 Sig where the additional barrel is really gaining you something. Rock River Arms has a 6" 9mm model that they call their "Police Match" or something like that and it appeals to me.

Of course, there's nothing wrong with a longslide just for the sake of wanting one no matter the chambering.

1902 Colt Sporting Models. The Military Model had front cocking serrations. The Model 1900 & 1902 had a lot in common, as did the Model 1905 but the Model 1905 was the first gun chambered in .45acp and blew them away and of course the 1911 did the same to the Model 1905.

I have never fired a 1900, 1902 or 1905. I have seen them at gun shows and handled a 1905 once. They are very interesting and an important step along the way.
