Spare parts.

I've been collecting 1911 bits since the 70's and no matter how far in advance I buy stuff, it seems like I'm always buying more for a new project. Waiting for the mail nowadays is a PITA!

Back in the 70's and 80's gunshows in American Legion, Armories, social clubs and similar venues contained a treasure trove of 1911 parts sold by "old" guys who had wooden tool boxes with little brass windows on the many drawers with faded / soiled paper inserts showing the contents. I never left a show without buying something for my parts stash or finding a needed part.

Nowadays AR and Glock owners have a fair amount of stuff to buy to help justify the drive and entry fee, but not for 1911 guys. Gads I miss those days. So, my parts bin grows larger trying to get stuff I may need for the "last next" build!

Are there ANY shows that still have 1911 parts? Not here in So. Florida :-(

You might try the 'Bay. Was looking for something else yesterday and found a bunch of 1911 parts. Some even looked like pretty good deals.

Gary, I saw your request for 50 BAE. I’ve got 15 pieces of brass if you interested. I don’t need them and you can have them. Just pay for shipping. I don’t know if it’s once fired, but it does look like it’s been reloaded once before with the silver primers, and they look a little flattened. You can wait by the mail box for this stuff. 😁😁

Used to buy M-14 parts by the crate. Great Western Gun show before it moved to Pasadena was exceptional.

haven't bothered with a gun show in a lot of years.
