I have to decide between these two pistols. Gonna be my duty, carry, range pistol. Probably put around 200 rounds/mo through it after initial break in.

I would like your opinions on which one would be a better choice and why.

Let the opinions come out. :pop2:

For me the Colts just don't do it. I would take a Springer over a Colt any day. The Customer Service is great and the gun itself are great. I have had 3 Springfields and never an issue with any of them. Never owned a Colt but the ones at the gun stores and my buddies just don't excite me for some reason. Either one should serve you well though.

Does the Colt rattle when you shake it?

No idea what the Loaded Combat is, but assuming it is just a loaded... I would get the Combat Elite Colt.

Nothing against SA but other than the Range Officer, I do not care for the middle of the road SA. I love the TRPs and the Mil-Specs though.

My Combat Elite is a great pistol and I am by no means a Colt fan boy.

That's a tough choice. I have a Loaded and a Combat Elite. [IMG]

I'd probably put the edge towards the Elite since it feels just a tad better with the undercut trigger guard and the fact that it lacks the ILS in the MSH.

I currently have some slim line G10 VZs on my Elite but I'll be changing that soon.

I think I would go for the Springfield myself.

I'm a huge springfield fan, however my loaded wasn't the greatest. It ran just fine but the trigger wasn't the greatest and the fit was nothing to write home about. But it went bang every time and Springfield's warranty and customer service are unbeatable.

I am a huge fan of the TRP, especially for duty use, however it is a pretty significant bump up in price.

    I don't have any experience with colt's.

If you want to spend $800-$900, get the Colt. If you want to spend $1200-$1300, get a TRP. Or save up a little bit more and get a Baer TRP or UTC.
