My thanks to knedrgr for bringing attention to a rather rare Springfield.
In the early nineties, '92ish, Springfield did a small run of around 250
Compact 45s. In the late 90's they did a larger run, still trying to get
a good figure on the late run. These are essentially a 4" Champion
slide on a Officer's size frame. Very early models had a standard barrel
with a bushing, majority of the first run and all the later run were the
    cone, or bushingless barrels.

This particular Compact was bought from the original owner. It was
purchased early 1999. A call to Springfield verified it was an October
1998 manufacture. Owner carried it for a brief time, firing only 300
rounds. It was then placed stowed in a safe for over ten years, only
    firing 30 rounds.

A detail strip verifies that internally it is near mint. Slide to frame fit
and barrel lock up is very good. Trigger fit is rather loose, with a horrible
break of 7 lbs 10 oz. It shows a unloaded weight of 26.75 oz.

    Review to follow shortly.

7 lb 10 oz trigger? Good lord!!! Nice little blaster, though. Looking forward to the range report. Gonna have to address the trigger weight, though....:p

Glad someone in the group bought it, and will give it a good home.

There's another one for sale on GT. Nutty. Two in the same week.

The one that is currently listed was flushed out from TOS. The seller replied
shortly after Frank_Drebin posted the "epic post" in TOS.
