Years ago I owned a Springfield Loaded chambered in 9mm. It was traded away, but left me Jonesing for another full size 9mm. I'd been on the look out for something to replace it, and wasn't quite sure what to get. I knew I was looking for a range gun, Government model, chambered in 9mm. After some thought, I ordered a Springfield Range Officer at my local gun store. It arrived in a few days, and I was pleased with the low maintenance parkerized finish. I do like the adjustable iron sights. Over-all I'm pretty happy with it. I've taken it to the range a few times, and it's functioned flawlessly. For the price point, it's hard to beat. And shooting 9mm out of a 40+ oz. 1911 is just too much fun. Thanks for taking a peek.

She looks great buddy! Full size 9mm 1911s are a blast. Gonna do anything with her or leave her stock?

Yup, I have the same one, except it’s the the elite version, and agree! These are really soft and accurate shooters and are very hard to beat at the price point. Congrats

The only thing I really did not like about my SA was the lack of front strap checkering. Waiting for it to return with that and a couple tweaks...

    Great guns for the $.

I have the stainless version. Great gun and a blast to shoot! My daughter wants it. Having a really hard time letting it go! One of those...I shouldn't have done that moments. It will likely go though.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Range Officer line. Glad to hear that you're happy with it.

How is the trigger and how tight is the slide/frame fit? I owned a 45 with really good fit but the trigger was not good out of the box. Thinking about a 9mm.

I am really thinking about getting that exact gun myself. Good choice.

Have the same Springfield Model. Mine is also 100% reliable and shoots well except I found the recoil spring to feel a little to light.

I 'felt' like something was a little off with the recoil spring on mine as well. As per Joe C's suggestion, I replaced the recoil spring with a Springco and replaced the main spring. It 'feels more better' now.

Great. It should be very nice.
Be sure to post some pics when you get it back. If I get the RO I’ll be looking to get the frontstrap checkered.

Will do. Grip tape is OK, but nothing beats checkering on a 1911!

96410113-25D7-4E13-8C26-97929C5D7A6F.jpeg Congrats - great gun for the money. I’ve got the .45 with a few tweaks. I had the ignition components cleaned up (no more creep) and by tweaking the sear spring I have a fairly crisp 3.5lb trigger pull. Dawson FO front sight, custom EGW bushing, magwell, front strap tape, Challis bushings and some excellent XS Shredder Palm Swell grips make it a fabulous shooter!

I own 3 Range Officers built on the NM frame. None of the 3 have any discernible slop as to slide/frame fit. Well built guns for the money in my humble opinion.
