I am happy to see this, however I am going to wait and see if it makes it onto the XC model. I frankly have little interest in the other lines at this point

Rumor on another forum is that Staccato will introduce a Glock magazine pistol at SHOT. Anything is possible I suppose.
I am new to the 2011 platform and don't own a staccato, but this does interest me as I think that a significant percentage of 2011 failures over the years are the direct result of poor magazine design. I do acknowledge that Mags have come a long way in the past decade, but are simply not to the reliability levels of say a Glock or AR mag.

I have a Prodigy that I really like but have shot a platypus and it's a cool gun, I would pick one up. the only criticism I have is the one piece lower precludes the option of swapping out grip modules at a later date.

Platypus took a nice bite out of the reasonably-priced 2011 market. LE agencies likely have a lot of Glock magazines laying around. They’re cheap and you can run a variety of sizes depending on grip module length. It could be a smart move. Or total flop.
I think the platypus is a cool concept. I shot Glocks for a long time before coming into the 2011 world and while I think that Glocks are terrible designs in compared to todays striker fired polymer pistols, I really do think that they nailed their mag design I would go so far to say, it may be the most reliable mag design on the planet, and in that they can be found in most large chain sporting good stores for 25 bucks retail, and that there is a never ending supply in the event of a magazine ban, I think a Glock compatible model could be appealing.

Honestly for a long time, the topic of 2011 reliability and mags kept away from getting into the platform. I am not so worried about that today, but it was a prior concern.

Redesign your pistol just to take some other manufacturer's mag design??? Why would you do such a thing when you just introduced your own new-and-improved mag design, developed your newest pistols to take said mags, and you can charge a pretty penny for them because people keep buying your little black pistols for $2,500+???

If someone wants to use Glock mags, let them buy a Glock.

the V3 staccato magazine is extremely reliable, the new C/CS magazine appears to be durable as well. It is an interesting shift to be sure I will be curious to see what the thought process was and how it performs.

Staccato use a traditional 2011 2 piece lower design so should not be an issue to change modules.

I would not look at it as another manufactures mag design so much as making a variant that is compatible with most common mag on the planet.

Every new 5.56 rifle on the planet is based around the AR mag. its common, its reliable, affordable, and it simply works. Thats not the case with 2011 mags. are 2011 mags better now than 10 years ago, of course, but mags are still the weak link in the 2011 platform.

the mag issue kept me on the sideline for a while, its currently keeping at least two glock shooting friends on the sideline despite liking how 2011's shoot.

i have a prodigy that I like, would I buy a P, probably not, would I but a glock compatible variant, maybe.

I agree, 2011 mags in general are much better than they were 5 to 10 years ago, but the 2011 platform still has a stigma of being mag sensitive, I've not had any issues with the prodigy OEM or Atlas Mags I use, but I've shot 10's of thousands of rounds down range though suppressed AR's and never once had to concern my self with dropping a mag, adjusting feed lips, or cleaning a mag.

Those pictures look like an ambi-slide stop. It makes no sense for Staccato to spend time and money with the new V3 mags and grips just to turn around and use Glock mags… Now if you just want something to talk about in fantasy land… Yep, Glock mags!

if they use glock mags they could possibly have more product margin in the firearm itself. perhaps this is a financial decision if true. more revenue possibly with the firearm and no worry on making anything on the magazines. some people will pay a little more to have a Glock mag 2011 with a big boy name.

i would buy an OA2311 just because i like the 320 mags, they are plentiful and reliable. but the firearm itself is so ugly i just can’t do it...Yet

Looking at the pictures and the videos, I don't see a hammer. Could this be an internal hammer like Smith's ez line? Or are is it Striker fired?

This.

I like 2011's

I have a Prodigy, IMO, the P does not offer such an increase in performance that it would warrant me taking a hit diverging myself of my Prodigy and Atlas mags. With that being said. Having a common mag variant is interesting.

I have NEVER seen an Atlas, or Staccatto mag in a local gun shop or sporting good store like bass pro or sportsmans warehouse and while i have no issues ordering online, the normies out there may see this barrier to entry.

options are good a good thing.

A striker fired pistol, with a comfortable 2011 style, metal grip module would be interesting.

I have a friend considering getting a 700-dollar metal grip for his 320.
