I’ve preferred slims and only used slim VZ 320 grips for about 10 years, but for some crazy reason, I’m starting to really appreciate standard thickness wood grips.

Has anyone else’s tastes changed or evolved as to their grip preferences?

No. My fingers have not grown any longer in the last 50 years. Still don't want anything other than thins on my 1911s.

Nah. I've got small hands but long fingers. Probably should have been an obstetrician. Anyways, I find slim grips to be too slim for me, and usually replace them with standards when I get a gun with them.

That reminds me, I have a beautiful set of Esmerelda Cocobolo thins and no 1911 to put them on. All my 1911s already have thins. I have this lust for a lightweight 5 inch Govt size 9mm. Maybe someday I will find one and use them.

Thin grips make the grip feel awkward to me. Too long and narrow. Standards for me.

I never really liked the slim grips, but after shooting both my M.C. Operator and my R.O. Elite ( that came with slim grips) back to back, I find that I like them quite well...

I like all grips as long as they're on a 1911 and not smooth.

They need to work with the frame contour and trigger lengths.

I prefer slim grips on bobtails with short triggers, standard grips on full size guns with medium to long triggers. Most stag or bone grips tend to be too thick and/or smooth for my liking.

They are from Derrwood. The screws had to be shortened they are so thin.

Did a search and apparently Derrwood is either out of business or no longer sells grip to the public. Did you measure the thickness before you installed them? Thanks.
