Which would you choose? One will serve as a backup,’practice gun.

Tactical 4”, a rail for a light is a nice thing to have on an HD gun. Plus you could buy 1.5x of them for the cost of the DVC Carry.

BPP on here has a Costa Carry VIP that splits the difference for a great price.

Those are great guns. If it’s a 9mm then buy it.

If you're never going to holster or carry it and it is going to be strictly a house gun, why not go with a full size pistol instead of a 4"? There's no benefit to a shorter barrel in this case.

Have both, and it wouldn’t matter. Both railed; both accurate; both can hold the same mags except the Carry can hold a 120mm. The Tactical cannot without modifying the grip (or finding a unicorn Carry/VIP grip for sale).
So, if you’re fine using a 126mm mag or larger, and it’s for home defense only, I see no reason to spend the extra money on the Carry.

Nor is there a benefit to a longer barrel, either.

I prefer 4 inch barreled pistols. Thanks.

Most of my guns are in the 4” range. Most serious competitors go with shorter barrels for faster transitions and target acquisition. No real need for the 5” barrel unless it’s a range toy, a 4” barrel will be just as accurate.

For home defense only I'm siding with the tactical. I'd guess they are pretty close in most aspects but I like the look of the tactical best.

For home use, a rail gun with a light is ideal. I went that way myself. I have a Valor with a light on it for a bedside gun. I also keep a hand held light by the night stand so I can avoid covering someone in the house with the gun's muzzle that I may not want to shoot if I have to move around in the dark.

Buying my daughter a VIP for both carry and HD. The lighter weight will make carry easier.

Since you own both, I would use the 4" for HD and the DVC Carry, for well...carry.

Out of curiosity are those in .45 or 9MM?
