Thoughts on these (and yes a mix of .45 and 9mm):

Intent is to add to the carry stable and have just had a calling back to steel vs polymer lately. I guess I am getting old!

The only thought I can share is this..... GB got their last transaction from me almost a year ago when they wouldn't stand behind their own policies & procedures.
Having said that... I have bought a good number of guns from Addicts here for great prices and from even greater guys. If you don't see it advertised for sell here, then put out a "want to buy"

That combination is popular with many here. Including myself, I currently have 4 or 5. Cheap 9mm to train & play with. .38 Sup for carry load. That is actually my preference.

I would agree and 2nd the Collector in both his posts.....Search the Classified here or put your own WTB post below and see what turns up.

Myself I have very few 9mm and those I have are rarely shot.

You can load .38 Super up hot enough to make Major PF but no way to do it safely with 9MM....If you re load.

Another vote for the Guardian. Picked one up a few months ago. 9mm was my choice but GrabAGun has them in .38 Super right now for $1253, almost $100 less than what I paid for mine back in August.

I'd pick DW guns over stock Colts ALMOST every time.

Out of the ones on GB you listed. The Valor would be my only pick. I have a Valor in 10mm that I like a lot. I'm not much of a 1911 9mm guy. Not that there's anything wrong with them just not for me. Additionally, the Blem is just what it is and not a fan of the FCS so that's 2 strikes for it IMHO.


TheCollector's 1911 is quite nice and I'd much rather have a 38 Super than the 9mm but.... to each his own!

If you want a lightweight then go with the DW Vigil Commander. It’s available in 9 or 45. That is the best bang for the buck. They are currently running under $1200 with night sights, tool steel parts, checkered front and back strap, and a ramped barrel.

Wondering why would you shoot a major PF round through a non compensated gun? Also I load my 9 major to 175PF without any issues but I only shoot that through my open gun.

Or you could go the all steel route. CBOB / Valor in .45 ACP or 10mm.

I’d buy a pre-owned pistol from our classies and as time and funds allow, make it your own with custom features.

I’d go 38 Superb, not with an additional 9mm barrel, but with a second back up 38 Superb barrel.
