Got my first 1911 and was looking to try some new grips. Was thinking Micarta or wood, maybe bone/ivory.

Maybe a little taller (get me closer to the slide)

@SW51 those are very easy on the eyes, ooooh yeah.

Are they grippy? Did you get them from SK, NHC, or someone else?

SK, great vendor. Grips are not very aggressive but nor slick either. Average I would say so if you like really grippy stuff these wouldn't make you happy.
Below might, aggressive as can be. Pretty sure you could get them without the thumb notch
