I snagged this pistol in 2004 seconds after Ted had posted it on the old "Pistolsmith.com" forum. I'll quote directly from the posting (which I printed and will be included with the pistol): "Built by Ted in 1999 while at Gunsite. Just made its way back to the shop. Less than 500 rounds through gun. I recently disassembled & checked this gun for fit & function - No problems. Features the following: -30 lpi checkering on frontstrap & mainspring housing -Colt frame w/ Caspian Commander slide -Novak Tritium bar dot sights -Serrated & flat-topped slide -Ed Brown gripsafety w/ grooves removed, stippled pad -Scheumann ramped match barrel -75 lpi serrations @ rear of slide, and extractor -Ed Brown single side safety -Short match trigger -Wilson Ultra-Light hammer -Wilson slide stop -Match extractor -Complete carry dehorn -Polished satin flats and satin bead blasted frame -Comes w/ rug & 1 mag" (End of the direct quotes) I've put maybe 100 rounds through the gun; it's spent the last 10 years sleeping in the safe. The tritium in the sights is dead, so it probably needs to go to Tooltech. IIRC correctly from my phone conversation with Ted, he had built the gun for his father or father-in-law. $2025 shipped FFL to FFL; payment by money order, personal check, or cashiers check.
