For the reloader, the 10mm may represent the perfect round for the 1911.
From mild to wild, the 10mm is great for target work, self defense, and hot and light or hot and heavy hunting rounds.
Putting it politely, there is little the 10mm won’t excel at.

This thread is for the powerhouse round of the 1911, the 10mm.
So post up everything about 1911s in 10mm.
Targets, dead dear pics, reloading info and more importantly,
post your 1911s/2011s in 10mm.

I've been a fan of 10mm for decades. Seems the world is finally catching up. ;)

My 1911 10mm build will be started soon. The only other 10mm I have is a 2011.

Wow that wound cavity...when you put it that way sir I guess I must have one...sold...what's the recoil like? Government size a must?
It’s not the wound cavity that the bad guys fear as much
as the radiation and the fallout if they survive the bullet.:rolleyes:

Actually I had a Dan Wesson VBob in 10mm I quite enjoyed.
Although recoil is heavy with hot SD and hunting loads which rival 41 mag ballistics,
most factory ammo is a bit heavier than full boat 230 grain 45 loads.
Reloading the 10mm can mitigate that by allowing you to taylor your loads for whatever you wish.

Any idea what 10mm load was used in that ballistic chart?

180 gr depleated uranium JHP over 5.8 grains of plutonium, at Mach 1.6
with a 2.5 megaton yield.

Contemplating a 10mm as well, just not sure which. I like the 1911 style of gun as I own more than a few, but looking for something Commander size. Honestly though, the G20 looks good as well...from a cheap and reliable standpoint.

Hey Kenny,
I bet this thread goes for a long time, thanks for starting it. I don't have any animal pictures to post just yet but that will soon change with some Texas wild hogs that are destroying property and land.

And I'm not reloading yet. I had a very good friend that gave me 1000 Georgia Arms 10mm FMJ rounds and also a 1000 175 grain Win. Silvertips. What a friend!!!

I can however post pictures of my two 10mm's, one I haven't received yet but it's on the way here. And I'd like to purchase 1 more, a Nighthawk 10mm.

I have a Delta Elite currently in the shop which at some point will be followed by a build of a Cmdr 10mm..

And as Mtek said I have a razor back here That will be completely gutted and just the frame and slide will be built on.. Using a KKM barrel, Stan Chen Gen1 magwell a nomar adjustable sight base and from there The rest is a surprise.. ;) I absolutely love the 10mm round, always have. Not being able to find ammo was my reason for passing them on.

I have always liked 44 mag as well but, 10mm imo has got to be my all time favorite. ( Next 45 that is. )

I'm not a fan of the Glock grip angle and went with a Springfield Armory XDM 10mm. Nice gun, take a look.
