Apparently you are powerless against a well built blade as well. What a collection!

Beautiful knives. I know very little about high-end knives, mostly being content with a Kershaw Leek and couple of old Buck folders I still have from when I was a kid, and a folding box cutter I use for work. I am very curious about this one, though:

Does this cleaver-like blade profile on a folding knife have a name? Is it mostly intended for social work, or would it be effective as a day-to-day utility blade for the kind of guy who is perfectly willing to cut cable ties, open boxes, strip wire, and occasionally use as a screwdriver whatever semi-sharp object he has in front of him? I ask because I think it is gorgeous and I am willing to open my wallet for a quality knife that is also a work of art, but I'd also need it to be able to take some abuse.

It is a very cool design, called the Smock after the designer who also makes a custom version of this that runs in the 500-600 range. This is a little more cheaper and it so happens I’m selling it, if interested DM me and we can discuss it if your interested.
