Some of you may have noticed me selling off a few 1911s to pay for some home repairs/upgrades that must be done before winter.

Well, along with my Ed Brown Kobra, this is the other one I'm keeping. It was a recent purchase and would be the most difficult to replace (reportedly only 50 were built in 2011), which is the only reason I chose it over the Trojan. It shoots very nice and runs reliably on both the Check Mate and Metal Form (Springfield style) mags, so that made the choice easier as well.

I replaced the fancy factory grips as the stippling just doesn't have as much texture as checkering, plus these black micarta grips have proven pretty durable for me.

Makes good sense to me. Have any more photos of the rear sight, and how it's set into the slide? Looks like it's pretty deep in there. :thumb:

The PM9 is an awesome gun. I'd keep that one too, although that HC Trojan sure was sweet (albeit easily replaced).

    Good choice!

    I don't think I could ever sell my 2010 PM7-45, either.

CMG, did it come with the fiber optic, or did you have it installed post sale? I'm giving serious thought to that option down the road, I'm going with a gold bead currently and giving it a try!

    Claire, this one is #6.

Paul, yeah it was a tough call, but availability played a big part.

The FO front sight is factory original, and here's a couple shots of the rear sight for Sir Guy:

Thanks, CMG. That looks like a pretty good sight installation for the price range of those guns. :thumb:

If you see one, you're supposed to just buy it. Thank God for credit.

The one 1911 I would not sell is my Colt Gold Cup Trophy. Heck would not sell any of the Colts I have right now.
