Was able to get to a local indoor range today with a couple older pistolas...my Colt 1903 Hammerless and a FEG HP Clone..

The 1903 shot pretty well except about once or twice per mag load, a round would appear not to load into the chamber then get crimped as the slide went forward..picture sort of shows what the round looked like as I pulled the slide rearward. Ammo was Herter's 71gr FMJ. Guessing I'll try replacing the magazine spring first to see if that helps..but for a gun from 1915, pretty accurate. Next time I'll use varied ammo to compare...anyone have any other thoughts on what may be causing the hang up?

    The HP Clone was very reliable, IMG_5417.JPG IMG_5420.JPG DJGA1989.JPG IMG_5417.JPG IMG_5420.JPG DJGA1989.JPG IMG_5417.JPG IMG_5420.JPG DJGA1989.JPG was feeding it UMC 115gr Brass case FMJ...

The pic of the targets..left side...the Colt 1903 hits...right target, FEG HP Clone...targets were out about 10 yards.

Nice taste in pistolas. If the Mag springs don't do the trick look at the extractor and try other ammo. Keep the old girl shooting

Awesome. Always good to see the classics in action.
