You know I have been watching the video accompanying your post and can't seem to figure out why you need that device or a pin for take down. Just grasp the slide and hold it back and remove the slide lock and keep your hand under the slide and just remove the guide rod and barrel from the slide. Reassembly is just as easy doing this in reverse. Have had no problems doing this. Hope this helps.

Yes, I’ve used this in a Tactical Elite (and TRP Op). It works great and is safe to use with these guns.

The full length guide rod and reverse plug will not pull out together while under spring tension, no matter how much you try. The pin, when installed, isolates the spring tension allowing the rod and reverse plug enough clearance to be removed together, followed by the barrel. It’s considered a PITA by many; enough so that Dawson designed an alternative.
