Top tier classic vs modern (Yost & Infinity)

Thought I would try doing a photo essay comparing two masterpieces that are the absolute top of the line in their respective genres. On the classic end, a Yost Pinnacle with ivory grips. On the modern end, an SV Infinity sight tracker built just the way I want it. Enjoy! And sorry if im not the best photographer. And the weird order of the images.
If anyone wants any better close-up details post here and ill try to make it happen.

As much as I respect infinity’s work, I feel most of them don’t age well. Like zubaz pants, tribal arm bands, cavaricci jeans and 24 inch spinners. But that Infinity you have, is absolutely great. Best I’ve seen.

@steelbahamut interesting and looks like a 72b frame with an earlier slide ?
Nice side by side comparisson. Does the Infinity feel as big as it looks compared to that perfect specimen of 1911?

Champagne vs. Mad Dog 20-20? :giggle: But heck, I'm old old school! OK, I confess, I know nothing about the Infinity. I'm sure many would enjoy either (or both).

While race guns look awesome, their price point is beyond my means at this point. To be fair, so is the Yost. Congratulations and awesome comparison!

I don’t think I’ve seen a better Infinity and I follow them on IG. The slide cuts are great.

sorry about the tribal arm band, maybe I should have said barbed wire instead as that is worse

Great comparison.

I’ve always liked the aesthetics of a Yost build.
The high grip blend on the Infinity is crazy.

Funny, because for me I cant stand the look of race guns, just don't see the appeal personally.

The infinity here at least doesn't look as ridiculous as most race guns do to me - but the single stack out of the pair is definitely the one that speaks to me

I would take either one of them…actually both of them 😍

Nice guns Sean see you tomorrow at the GTG…I am currently 1911less so I will bring ammo and shoot everyone else’s guns 😂

I guess I'm the odd man out and prefer the infinity.

I definitely was trying to get away from the bling-ey look you see on a lot of Infinitys show guns, esp the crazy IG ones. For me the only choice was a full matte blackout DLC, but I do love the blue trigger.
While its definitely chonkier than a 1911, it feels more lithe to me than a Staccato. Grip feels a tad thinner and I think the magwell and wide rear of the slide to direct mount the RMR make it look way thicccer in the photos.
It is quite heavy but I dont mind! 68oz with all the stuff on and fully loaded with a 23 round magazine.

For the Yost, here is the build sheet:

First, great pair of blasters and a nice pictorial comparison.

Never shot or been around a true race pistol, and I get that they do just what they are designed to do. But that Yost. My oh my. Nice to see one get used (the small bit of bluing wear is proof) just the way it was meant to be used.

Thanks for the peek, very nice blasters.
edit= wow slide remarked @Colt

I posted these images on my thread in the 2011 section but I think theyre worth sharing here as well. Some of SVIs proprietary tech which ive seen nothing close anywhere else. Interesting work inside the slide, barrel, interchangeable breech face with a very unique extractor design.

I wonder if the large purchase of that extractor hook really aids in reliability.
