Anyone know of a craftsman (person) that can make a dimensionally accurate 1911 grip from Turquoise and inlay a silver Kokopelli on them? Ron

A turquoise piece large enough for a knife handle is extremely rare so I doubt you could find a slab large enough for a set of 1911 grips. It would be pricey if you did.

True.. I'm thinking a set from reassembled and stabilized smaller stones might work. The polymers and epoxy we have today are the only way all the spalted wood grips are holding together. I've got a few connections out on the res, so I've got them looking.. Ron

I think Obsidian would be sick if it could be done too

It can be done... tell your craftsman to by reconstituted stone, which can be had in pieces large enough to craft grips. It will be tricky.. heat will crack 'em, but it can be done.
