I talked with Bobby Tyler of Tyler Gun Works on Friday 09/08/17 about the two Ruger Vaqueros he is working on for me. These are part of a special run of 200 Lipseys Ruger Vaqueros that are convertibles in .357 mag/ 9mm! Mine will be a little nicer as they will have full action work with Wolff spring kits and Ruger Montado hammers which are really hard to find.

The grip frames, barrels and both 9mm & .357 Mag cylinders will be high polish slow rust blued. The frames, hammers and triggers will be color case hardened. Yes, Bobby will be case coloring stainless! The pins, screws and base pin will be nitre blued.

I can't wait till the middle of October! My pistols will probably be the last ones out the door for this series of two hundred. Pictures will follow!

This is what the standard pistols look like, some come with options such as engraving, holsters and Red Stag grips

Hey Sonny, you got the rig for these pea shooters? It would be kind of you to post that leather. Those are going to be some kind of guns, congrats!
Yes, I do have the leather. Left over from my SASS days. Every time I looked at it in the closet it scratched an itch. I thought about getting a new set of six guns for a while after selling my other two sets a while ago.
When I saw these pistols it just pushed that button, because they were .357mag & 9mm plus they were blued and CC at $850 each. I am spending a bit more, but I think it will be well worth it knowing how good Bobby is at metal finishing. No engraving needed, I know the finishing will be world class! I will post a picture tomorrow of the rig.

Unfortunately, Bobby Tyler says he is running about a year out on his private orders with all the commercial orders he is receiving.

If you know a young man or woman that wants to learn the trade he needs some folks with basic skills and a pride in workmanship to start out in sanding and polishing.

I have this cross draw rig from Black Hills leather but I want to do something else that is more adaptable to different pistols. I will probably end up buying a gun belt like this with no loops and no holsters so I can use the El Paso Leather "Austin" holsters I have. Unfortunately I have put on enough weight over the past 15 years that this doesn't fit anymore so I will probably sell this rig for a good discount! The loops are for 45 Colt. which I don't have anymore.

That rig with matching boots and a silver nose cap them guns will twirl themselves, heck, they'll shoot themselves, nice, real nice, so stop eating for a couple days and put the money to ammo.
Remind me not to meet you in a saloon next time I'm in Colorado!
I don't hang out in the saloons down on Seventh and Grand, (historically the red light, gambling, white lightning district) unless a bunch a friends are getting together. I just don't like bars as trouble is just around the corner!

A fast shooter I ain't. Although shooting single actions greatly improved my skills with 1911's! :D
My skills with single actions can be described as "Dead Last"! Rifles are on the other end as very fast and accurate, go figure? :bang:

I have way to much ammo and not enough time! Help me, as I am so tired of being a responsible individual at work....:poop:

Talked to Bobby last week and I should be receiving my pistols about the third week in October. I just need to find an LGS around here that has a Vaquero in stock so I can see how the grips fit my hand. I did find a Security Six 50th anniversary .22 LR that was a good fit, but I don't know if they are the same frame. I have to get a pair of elk grips from Grasshorn Gunworks, http://grashornsgunworks.com/

.357 so far.

Will not be shooting any 9 mm as I do not own a single round of 9 mm (much less a pistol to shoot it out of).
Well, You do own a 9mm now! That extra cylinder is for 9mm parabelum! That is what made these pistols so irresistible!
