Back around 1974-75 I bought a Star PD .45 for concealed carry. It was ok for it's intended purpose and was my first new firearm purchase.

Sometime around 1978, I got the bright idea to have the slide chromed. Knowing what I knew at the time, I stripped it down and sent the slide to the chrome shop along with some Harley parts!

Fast forward some 32 years later, I'd like to return the Star PD to it's original state and just leave it in the safe.

Can the chrome be removed? If so, who does that kind of work?

    Any feedback will be appreciated.

I've dealt with Robar on numerous occasions. 100 percent satisfied every single time. Their web site currently shows a chemical strip (including chrome) for slide only at $30. They can also refinish the slide or entire pistol. Chase the link and scroll to page 3.
