Figured I would put these in a thread by themselves. Pics of the Kimber Stainless Target II 10mm I have been shooting without cleaning. 1,498 rounds (my count) without anything other than wiping the outside off for putting away.

Hope it's not like my truck! Once you clean it, it'll fall apart!

It was lubed before I started shooting. Probably could have used a bit more.

Wow, was the pistol fitted tight or kind of loose before you started?

Why have you now cleaned it? I hope it is not your carry firearm.

It was tight to start with and still tight DH. Feels like the action is a bit more smoothe now, too.

I'm glad I cleaned it. The buildup in the firing pin tunnel and the extractor tunnel was quite severe. I'm sure it could have gone "several" hundred more rounds before a failure to fire, feed, eject, extract, or total seizure, but at least at this point I was able to see just how much gook can build up in certain areas.

I was also able to check the wear marks on on the internals. Hammer hooks are resting squarely on the sear with no uneven or strange wear patterns. The slide stop has no abnormal wear from the barrel lugs. Sear looks good with even hammer hook markings. Disco pad has some uneven wear from the trigger bow. The bow is rubbing on either side of the pad but not in the middle. One of the surfaces is apparently uneven but it isn't a cause for concern in my opinion.

The slide and frame fit has improved. The action is a bit more smoothe than it was out of the box, even with a heavier spring installed. There is no damage to either the slide or frame at the impact points. Rail surfaces have been polished and a solid, polished line is running the length of the slide.

Everything is looking good. Time for another 1500 rounds.
