Took the wife today for her first ever firearm experience at the range. All 20 shots hit inside the target. Very impressed.

As we were waiting for our lane I saw a DW Valor VBob 45 ACP in Stainless with nice Black G10 grips. It looked like old new stock. The store sells plastic guns like crazy. But this 1911 and the others look like they have been there.

What would you value a Valor VBob in Stainless? I will check GB. I wanted to ask due to the Valor VBob love I have seen here.

Thanks in advance for you feed back.

Be safe.

New old stock unfired Vbob in SS being a discontinued pistol at this point I could see around $1500.. But, they will go used for $1200-$1350 often times if they pop up here. Last one I purchased was $1300.00
Steve - From the forum I understand that you have a pretty good idea about DW’s. I love seeing the work you have done. I would like a Commander in a bob tail. Something like a EB Kobra Carry. Is a KC twice the value of a Valor V-Bob. I know you don’t have a crystal ball but to make it really nice - like Integrity Arms nice- what would it take for that? If a PM conversation is more appropriate let me know

Thanks

Out of the box new I would say that the KC is of a better quality over all, but not twice the Value of the DW offering. As far as what it would take to get a custom job done well that would be a matter of how much of my hand you want in the mix sir. despite brand as well all guns are not created equal. What I mean is that even 2 KC guns are not going to be the same fun many factors play into how well a production or semi custom gun performs and even looks and feels. I've had some DW out of the box pretty accurate and some of the same models not so much. Same applies to EB. But if we're talking apples and oranges then either pistol can be a real peach if ya catch my drift.. lol

It would not be unheard of if it went in the $1500 - $2000 range. These are strange times.

1 1/2 yrs ago, I sold a mint CBOB 10MM for $1500. DW's are pricey but worth it.

The pandemic and Biden election have certainly affected gun prices. BUT it's the lower priced guns that have gone through the roof. Seems to me that the better 1911's are staying steady or even dropping a bit.

I've recently considered selling my 5" 10mm VALOR and replacing it with a DW SPECIALIST ( 10mm ). Using my usual sources, I've been unable to even find a SPECIALIST in 10mm.
I'm sure that part of that is the caliber, but it also seems that there just aint the same amount as there used to be.

Bottom line ... if it calls to you, you must listen.

"The pandemic and Biden election have certainly affected gun prices." True, and I suspect prices will go up when the new administration gets its feet under it, and starts its anti-gun campaign. 1911's - with magazines under 10 rounds - may become particularly attractive as the banning "Assault Weapons" campaign gathers steam.

Not to hijack the thread - so back to it: I bought an NOS black V-Bob, delivered in August, from "Two Gun Jay" on Gunbroker for $1325. He had a bunch of them - but they seem to be all gone now from that source.
