Everyone, I've got some rare 1911s and will post them in this sub-forum.

I picked up this unfired Valtro last year. Its a safe queen for me, but I'm glad I was finally able to grab it, after wanted one for so long.

Brian in your collection were in line of "prized" handguns would the Valtro be in?

It would be in the top 10 for sure, maybe in the top 5. That includes all guns, not just 1911s.

I remember being impressed by photographs of these when he released them. I hear he's only gotten better at his game. Brian, yours looks great.

Jardine is a good one. He spent an hour on the phone with me just telling stories and shooting the breeze. We were half heartedly talking about a build for me.

Normally,I don't try to dredge up older threads for fear of being a NECRO -THREAD-PHILLIAC ,but my curiosity has gotten the best of me.

What is John Jardine up to these days?

Is he still building these works of art?

And,if so,what is his time on builds?

Heinie stopped when he had a seven year waiting list,so I can only imagine what John's list must look like.

I think someone took delivery of one earlier this year or last year. I think I remember him saying the wait was around six years, but I'd get a second opinion on that.

Yeah, I'm not sure he is still taking orders.

All I know is that Valtro prices continue to climb at a steady rate.

...if you can find one, that is.

    Valtro 1998A1

    I bought a Valtro 1998A1 4 or 5 years ago (a pretty early one).

It is the last gun I would ever sell and the first handgun I would want in a gun fight.

Thanks for posting the pics of this beauty.

something over 8000 through it, John replaced the MIM (oh yes !) fire control parts at my request and he also cheerfully replaced an extractor and the rear sight blade after they met with some unfortunateness.....
