Doesn't look like it was much fun of a cruise! And I thought things were rough aboard a flat-bottomed LST!

Wow(!), glad all were safe. Brought back memory of a rough channel crossing I had one time from Cherbourg to Pool. It was at night and I wasn’t sure we were going to make it. That’s when good captains earn their salary!

Nothing to worry about unless they announce the kitchens are shutting down. (That’s your first sign things aren’t looking too good!). If the people all move the the center of the ship and take every available square inch of floor space, stretched out flat on their backs... that’s usually the second sign. And you’re in pretty deep if the order to issue life vests is given.

    Otherwise, have a great cruise!

A ship without power is only minutes away from being capsized and sunk. No thanks!

I assumed these huge ships had more than one engine. Not true? Years ago my wife's aunt and uncle lived in Florida and had a cabin boat. It had 2 Chevy V-8
engines. If one engine failed, he could still power it back home. Does anyone know more about this?

One of my versions of HELL is being aboard a cruise ship.

I can't post under these conditions. They're too positive. :)

I did an internet search on this story and found info that said the ship had 4 engines, but there was NO info on what caused all 4 engines to stop. I will be interested to read what happened, but it does not matter, I will not be going on a cruise ship. Apparently several of them have sunk in the last few decades.

Mmmm, doing Alaska cruise in August. About four years ago on our last day and night headed back to port we were outrunning a hurricane and it got really rough but nothing like that video.
