As many here know, I have decided to consolidate my collection of 1911s into one gun per smith —so I have been selling a few doubles and triples. I have two Volkmanns and this morning I stood in front of them for an hour trying to decide which one to sell. It was hard, really hard, but I decided on the Prestige. This one will help ease the financial sting of a Hoag long slide I finally found and a BEC I recently ordered. This one will hurt but here goes. This Volkmann Prestige is rare - I think Luke has only made two and this one is featured on his web page. It features Damascus slide with gold leaf scroll over Turnbull color case hardened frame, gold bead front sight, Battlehook Volkmann rear sight, flattened and serrated top, counter sunk slide stop, fluted barrel, ball cuts, spalted maple grips with Volkmann medallion, etc etc. It’s all there — every option. Luke found a way to blend all of it into the 1911 symphony you see before you. It has been fired a grand total of two times and never carried, so it appears as new. It comes with original paperwork, gun rug, and one Volkmann 9mm magazine. This build was $7500 but I will pass this one to an addict for:
