First STI I owned (4.0 HOST) I foolishly sold...Regretted it so much I sold some other stuff and ordered a second....Was supposed to have it Monday, but because of USPS's strange reliability of always coming through to disappoint....I am hoping today is the day .

In the meantime, Ive been enjoying this Marauder I picked up here used at a great price...It on the other hand, hasn't disappointed. Paired with a slightly modified Safariland 6384, it's an awesome duo....Anxiously awaiting Safarialnds ALS duty holster for the HOST models next...

I just picked up a Marauder! Love it so far, need to get it out and get some rounds through it. How do you like the safariland 6384? And what did you have to modify? I'm searching for a good range holster for it. marauderpik.jpg

take a look at LS holsters. They can make them to work with the Safariland ALS system.

Didn't see it listed, but see the auto hoods, which I am not a huge fan (personal preference) .I've seen ONE photo of supposed Safariland ALS RMR compatible duty holsters for the STI HOST at a TE event on the west coast I believe ...hoping they come out to the regular public sometime this year. Maybe I need to call my Safariland rep to see if he knows anything.

It doesn’t show up as an option prior to checking out but they call you when it’s almost complete and ask what your planned mounting system is.

I have a Safariland ALS 578 Pro Fit (long) that takes my STI Costa VIP just fine (with about an inch of extra length to spare). I believe it will also fit my 4.0 Host as well. HOST doesn't get here till Tuesday..... May have to trim a very small amount to accommodate the RMR.
I guess I should say the pistol fit is w/o a light mounted on the rail.........

I have had good luck with Sarfialand for my STI Tactical 9mm with light. (the same Level III holster that is for the full size Springfield rail/w light). No issues and no dremel, lol.
Going on 5 months and no issues. Ordered from Safrialand and had within just a couple of weeks.

Above is the duty setup. Need to replace my handcuff pouches, they ones I have are not working at all, everything else is good to go. The open mag pouches work great too and the holster fits perfect and locks solid, no rattle at all and easy to draw.

I spoke with safariland recently and they said they have no plans to come out with an ALS holster for 1911/2011 with RMR set up. It’s very unfortunate, because that would be my go to holster. I have the long shadow, and as good as it is, I still prefer the ALS to any hood.

"...Holster support has been an issue as new optics-ready guns hit the market, given policies and officer’s preferences towards Safariland. This has made some guns unable to be put into use on duty. With STI working closely with Safariland and prototype 6300rds series holsters already in existence officers can take comfort knowing they are selecting a gun that they don’t have to hope that a holster someday appears in the Safariland catalogue..."

From article below...Hopefully there is something coming....If I can find the picture I will post it, but essentially it was from a TE demo out on the west coast somewhere with HOST's with Safariland RMR compatible duty holsters.

Update on the Safariland ALS 578 Pro Fit (Long)..................My 4.0 DS Tactical fit fine. When I mounted the Trijicon RMR I had to trim the top edge of the holster a little. Works fine after trrimming and still works on Costa VIP and my 1911's, with or without rails.

I have a threaded barrel on my marauder, wondering if that safariland would fit, doesn't look like it would clear.

If you take out barrel plug it should. My experience anyway.
