I am in Connecticut.

I actually live about a mile or so from the Colt factory.

As far as LGS, there are several good ones. I am in the process of trying to put together as comprehensive a list as possible for Connecticut Local Gun Stores.

Off the Top of my head, here are some of the ones I think are really good:
Newington Gun Exchange (NGX), great people, not a huge store, but what they have is really good.
They get a lot of Colts, CZs, Dan Wessons and have a lot of used Sig Sauers and Smith & Wessons. Great people.

JoJo’s in Southington. Small retail space, but they do A LOT of custom Smith work. They have worked on several builds for. I recommend them.

Sportsmens Outpost in Wolcott. Good people, and a good array of guns. I have not been there in a while, but they typically have some good 1911’s and Revolvers to go with the array of modern stuff.

The Gun Store in Waterbury. Real good inventory. Some of their used stuff is marked high, but they have a lot of Wilson Combats and Nighthawks.

Hoffmans on the Berlin Tpke. Huge selection, worth checking out, especially if you are making a trip to Newington Gun Exchange. Check out Hoffmans too.

I will add some others that are not local to me.
I am in CT as well
Question on JoJos - since their smith passed away last year of cancer have you had any work done ?

It was definitely tough hearing about Jody. A great person, a great craftsman. I always enjoyed talking to him.
John is still there and he has a good crew working with him. They are doing a Pre-ban Colt build for me now.

They also recently did some minor work for me on three different 1911’s. They did a good job on the flush cut / revers crown on my WC CQB, and they did an ambi safety install on one of my custom colts. They also did some extractor/ejector work on another 1911, but I have not shot it yet.

But they are open for business and doing what they have always done.
Yes that was terrible
I have been hesitant to take a 1911 to them since so it is good to hear some feedback perhaps I will try something small like a sight install
Thank you
