Not many gun loving folks here in CT. I know there are a couple on this site, but I doubt there are more than 10. so that makes this post kind of a long shot.....

anyway, if there actually is anybody from CT out there, what are your favorite shops & ranges in the state?

Goto Greysons in orange also great shop! K5 is out of business! The employees from K5 opened Greyson's. Where in CT are you from if you know Chris at Bethany you must be close to me.
Mike really turned this into a huge store , very impressed with the bigger store and club

I've been to NGX, it's a nice shop, lots of long guns....I usually buy from hoffmans when they are having a sale. I also really like bethany firearms and picked up a shotgun from them recently.

I usually go to the bridgeport shooting range. Its an average range, nothing special, but it gets the job done. Greysons just opened a new range, I haven't heard anything about how it is though...

I was greysons FIRST member and their 1st customer in the new store/range. I love the place. They are dealers for WC and NHC but can order just about anything.

If you mention that Rob says there is a 5% discount for 1911 forums members, you get that to offset Maloons taxes. the service is top notch. the hours are good. the range is one of the best I have seen and use d in this state.

the workers ar e not salesmen on commission. they are avid gun users and owners who know their stuff. They want you to get what you want, not what is on sale at the moment.
I started out shooting in Bridgeport but 35 bucks for a box of reloads(did not have a permit yet) and an owner who is for profit and could care less about the comfort and safety of his customers--lost me. Tried hillards in Norwalk too but you are on your own there no employees to watch you(rso) or even care if you are there to shoot it seems.

I then went to Delta Arsenal in Wallingford. Great folks, nice ranges--all indoors. gun prices a bit high though. I like the way Doug runs the place, personally. he and Marie are tops!!
then Greysons opened.. Wallingford is 40 minutes away from home. Greysons is 5!!!My aching back says to stay at greysons. I do miss my friends @delta sometimes

I am a greysons addict now-- order all my guns from them(except what they cannot get like a guncrafter or a fusion firearm). get the 5% discount everytime( it wa s my idea for them to offer it to our members :) )

I noticed on EDCX9 available yesterday for anyone interested( 203 553 9077) opens @ 10 am EST

75 feet and only up to 556/223 caliber

I think Delta allows higher calibers and they were supposed to be building a 100 yard indoor rifle range--not sure if they did though
Interesting, sounds like it might be worth a trip down.

Jojo's is a similar setup. They have a couple of cases filled with Glocks, M&P's, and a lot of production 1911's. They get the occasional semi custom on trade and usually sell those for good deals. But they really shine on their 1911 work. Everything from a trigger job to a full custom gun. They do great work and love to talk everything 1911. Certainly worth a stop if you are up this way for a Hoffmans trip.
hoffmans-full priced guns without good customer care--no thanks

huge store that has everything in it but the people there leave a lot to be desired
Happen to shoot at Greysons atleast once a week.. :)
prove it! I think you are a GHOST--LOL
too bad we have such different schedules. would love to shoot with you one day WWB

shops: Park City Tactical (co-located at Bridgeport range...great folks and they are a LE Dealer), Hoffman's, K-5. That's all i've used....Park City Tactical and Hoffman's are top 2...

ranges: Cos Cob Rifle & Revolver Club....private range/club in southern Fairfield county...and right down the road from me!
I did not like the unfriendly guy @ park city. Hoffmans as I said is full price only

MY buddy took me to your club once. i t was very nice for a private range. then he found himself banned for a simple mistake he made( hit the red light by accident on an EMPTY range as he wa s packing to leave after shooting ) and a RSO wanna be had him banned. he is now having fun at Greysons
Does RI count? I'll be up there Sunday for 2 weeks.
better seafood in RI

not sure about the ranges. If it was not a 1.5 hour drive to greysons, I would invite you to shoot with me. long drive for 1 hour of fun though

enjoy your stay in N E quack
