So I have that frame and maybe I'm getting slow but I'm not understanding the information about ramp cut (only) STI or Wilson-Nowlin. Thanks, Bob

Also I was wondering if a plain vanilla barrel from a 1911 is compatible with a 2011 frame. I have a bunch of parts stuck away somewhere and I sometimes think about putting them together or sending them out for a build. The last time I assembled some information I neglected to write it down. I thought I would remember it, lol.

What is your frame cut for - Nowlin/Wilson, Para, or Neutral?

    What caliber is your slide?

Once you know these two, you'll know the appropriate barrel to search for.

I think that's the problem, he can't tell them apart.

    bob, show pictures.
    They are NOT interchangeable.

You could call STI with the serial

I figured the frame would have a tag/box/paperwork.

OP, any printed details anywhere...may be abbreviated.

Looking in Brownell's, an STI receiver can be had either plain as per Colt/Browning design, or with Wilson/Nowlin integral ramp cut. They don't list the Clark/Para cut, so that narrows it down a bit.

I've got them out now. The STI 1911 frame requires the Wilson/Nowlin integral ramp cut, not the Colt/Browning style. The STI 2011 frame will take the Colt/Browning style. I push myself pretty hard, burn the candle at both ends and really dingy when exhausted. Thanks, Bob
