To be fair, these were from yesterday:

S&W Model 57

Ruger target, 50rds at 7yds. The low shots were the first ones. The rest were after I made my self slow down and focus
SR1911 CDR 7yds 230g 50rds by awp101, on Flickr

Model 57 target, 12 rds at 7yds. My first go 'round with the .41 Magnum and I can certainly see the attraction

Let's see who else has been burning powder recently!

Actually yesterday but I'm still feeling decompressed. Hadn't been shooting for a while and a buddy got a new to him 870 so we went to my uncle's place for some clays and pistol blastin. I got to shoot my magpuled up 870 and Springer loaded for the first time. Also the first outing with the Blackhawk twins with their .45acp cylinders. Thankfully I busted the first one with my 870, my buddy wasn't so lucky with his. Not sure why I put so much pressure on the first shot with a new shotgun but I do. I am pretty convinced that my light primer strike issue with the S&W ppk/s is just the crappy ppu ammo. Gobbled up the hornady. The Wesson and Baer were sweet as always and I think I've got a new 1911 convert heading our way if he can get it by his wife. P938 is a sweet little pocket rocket with a heavy trigger but the appropriate controls. My old 20 ga reminded me that while the 870 might hold more shells, I don't need 8 shells if I'm doing my part!. God intended scatter guns to have two barrels and as many triggers. I'm rambling but I was long over due for burning up some ammo and it was a blast. Group photo.

Today is going to be a special range day. My mother, who hasn't been able to leave the house in a while because of health problems, is going to come out with us.
Glad to hear she's doing better. Good to get mom out shooting.

My daughter and I shot her Christmas present today...a girly Encore with Match Grade Machine 270 Win barrel topped with a Zeiss Conquest scope. It’s a tack driver with my handloads.
That range looks sweet! Not much better than getting out to shoot with family.

Just got back from the local indoor range. Still getting used to shooting indoors... It was really crowded so I didn't even shoot the Baer or Wesson. Sacrilege I know but I feel weird trying to be a brass whore when it's crowded and I can't get an end lane. So I burned up some misc 9mm in the p938. I'm pretty accurate at 5-10 yards with the extended 7 round mags. Not so good with the flush mount 6 rounders. Need more shooting. I also took my .40 xd. It was my first handgun purchase. I've never sold a gun but shooting it with a 1911 was really underwhelming. Today I shot it cold and I liked it again. So much for getting out of .40 cal all together...

Swung by the range on my way home from work. Got these girls a little dirty. Only a hundred through the Baer and a few mags through the Wesson. Got booted for the free ladies class. I'm not complaining. I could've gone to the other range room but I figured I'll just go back. Those guys thought it was a good idea to sign me up for a membership. Ha! The jokes on them! The brass bandit is on the loose! I'm there at least two nights a week for the price of one range session a month.

On another note this ladies gig is really cool. Free instruction in the classroom and on the range. Free targets, ears and eyes. Free rentals. Just pay for ammo if using a rental. My mom has never shot a handgun but she's really excited about this. Extra incentive for me to get the 9mm Springer back up and running.

150 rounds through the Baer. My shooting was way better on black targets this time. Just had to slow down a bit and focus on my front sight like I'm supposed to. Been struggling a bit on darker targets with the blacked out front sight. Forgot target pics but here's one of the Baer all hot and dirty.

Called it quits when the guys in the next lane got a bit annoying. They were blasting away with a 12 ga, a 300 with a comp, and a couple handguns they couldn't keep running. One had obviously never shot before. Seemed like more of a photo op for them. Then there was the kid at the other end with a cast on his hand. His dad just kept renting guns to see if he could hold on to one. I'm all for teaching any kid to shoot but it didn't seem like the right time...

Dialed in a re-worked SPR. It's a LW build with a "skinny" barrel, Vltor upper, etc.
Never achieved the accuracy I expected of 3/4 to 1 MOA with IMI 77 gr. Razorcore with the gun.
Pulled muzzle device and checked barrel crown last week. Found the crown was not concentric to bore (barrel is 18" Ballistc Advantage). Re-crowned barrel.
Ran to the 100 yd. range this AM, it shoots well within that 3/4-1 MOA range now.
Looking forward to some "ranch time" where we can shoot 800+ yds.
The Ballistic data says this gun/ammo stays super sonic to 900 yds.+.
It should be a decent 600 yd. gun for IPSC size targets.

Im sure I'm preaching to the choir and if it ain't broke....but you would get better results if you used a cantilevered mount on just the receiver as opposed to bridging to the handguard.
Just that the minute misalignment between the receiver and the free float tube could torque on the scope causing accuracy issues. Obviously his groups don't show any issues!
It was 9mm rental day for me at the local range. Trying to decide on a couple to put on a ccw permit that is a work in progress. Yay Komifornia! I jumped the gun (pun intended) and told my guy to order up a CZ P-01 over the weekend. The range only had a 75 compact but I figured it was close enough. I really see what @Quack is loving about these. Ragged hole after the first two figuring out the hold. Then my first Sig 229. Not quite as smooth for me but still pretty easy to shoot. Gluck 26 up next. Planned on starting with a G26 then a G19 so i didnt get spoiled and hate them. The G26 I didnt really like but the G19 was totally different than my XD's or the other Glucks or S&W striker guns I've shot. Not a bad heater. I'm getting one. Then there was a HK USP compact. Nice gun but I didn't like it as much as the CZ or Sig. The only other guy shooting asked me if I was new to guns and trying to decide what to buy. I explained what I was doing. He asked if I'd like to try his new CZ PCR. Said he liked it as much as his 1911. Nice gun. Obviously my ears perked up when he said 1911. A RIA that he got from a local shop and loved. I told him that when 9mm rental night was over it was Baer .45 night as usual. He'd never heard of a Les Baer but after a mag he was hooked. I may stray a bit into CZ territory, but I think I've got another 1911 addict about to really piss off his wallet.

I would've popped the snake and skinned it, but nice shooting with a couple sweet new gats.

Put another 200 rounds through the Les Baer today. No failures this time. Total round count is up to 1075.

Older pic but I ran the WMB in a SS for a class this evening. I am very new to more tactical style pistol shooting. This thing made even me look good. As usual, no failures, just under a couple hundred rounds. I was hitting shots that I have no business making, albeit slower than the regulars. It's just so easy to shoot. I lost a lot of time on the draw and reloads but was darn close for the shooting speed. Not me at all. It was tons of fun and I'll go back. I was easily the youngest person in the class by about 10 years, and one of two running a 1911. The other one was a single shot kimber. All very nice people.

Finally got to the range this morning. Took three guns that I’m hoping to work onto my carry permit. Kali is dumb but at least I get to carry. My first 300 rounds through the new KGB. 100 each through the BEC and Milks. All guns ran ball and defensive ammo. Some dumbass started trying to sight in his .338 with a brake, at 25y, indoors, right as I was loading mags for the Rogers/Milks. I hate people and need my own range.
