Ruger target, 50rds at 7yds. The low shots were the first ones. The rest were after I made my self slow down and focus

Model 57 target, 12 rds at 7yds. My first go 'round with the .41 Magnum and I can certainly see the attraction

Let's see who else has been burning powder recently!

Sorry to hear about the shoulder.
Hope the visit goes favorably and some good prognosis is given.
Your target looked steady and tight. (y)
I hope it ends up being only some PT for the remedy. My shoulders kill me everyday but its an occupational degradation. My buddy got exercises with resistance bands from his Dr. and he showed them to me. I was surprised that when I do the exercises my shoulders feel great but I usually forget to do them or I'm busy doing else, sorta like now.
Thanks guys..... at my age, I wouldn't be surprised if he mentioned "replacement"
I've had both hips replaced and if a shoulder is next I would have as much metal in my body as I have in my gun safe.

Yeah I'd take those shots without a hurtin' shoulder! I messed my strong side shoulder up at about the end of one outdoor season and had to stop shooting for a couple months it was so bad. Did strength exercises at home. It started to feel better and I could dry fire a full size OK so I went to the indoor range. It took a few magazines to stand up to the flinch of anticipated pain. Hope all goes well with your doc visit, @TheCollector !

I don't believe that. You've pulled that metal out of the safe and flashed it a few times. I've got 1 hip so far. My ortho doc told me go as long as I can with a bum knee and the shoulder. He said I'd probably have to have those re-done within my "expected" lifetime. He also said "ibuprofen is your friend". Ask the doc about joint grease. Mine offered an injection every 6 months but said it helps some people and not others. My meniscus is almost gone in the knee so he didn't think it would help me there.

Bone on bone with both knees and strong side shoulder is toast.

Doc said his scalpels, saws & drills are ready whenever I am. This was a few years back. Didn't have time to fool with it....just keep him injecting the juice into each of the joints every 6 months. I asked him about he "chicken beak protein replacement cartilage injections I'd read about........Doc said, "Son....there aren't enough chickens to help what you need". I laughed....he didn't. And so it goes, lol.

I'm still laughing.....taking delight in going way past the time my warranty card expired on the original equipment joints.

Didn't have time to take....we had other health matters to combat in the family.

Now...my only excuse is that I don't really have one. Stubborn, I suppose. That, and I must enjoy the pain...

On the subject of pain.....one of the first moves my Doc did was replace the ibuprofen that was keeping me going with Voltarin...generic version. A single pill with breakfast and another with dinner. It's not perfect....but it sure helps.

I've missed a pile of work over the past two years for other family health issues.....I've put in some crazy long hours to make it up as best I can....and want to let things run on cruise control another two years if possible....then I'm gonna get second opinions with the fine folks at Duke Medical and perhaps have my joint replacements done there....stay in a rehab spot for a week afterwards...then get through it that way. It's six hours from home.....but I'm convinced they are the best.

Maybe by the time I have that done it'll be closer to the six more years that I want to work before retirement and becoming a full time range rat, fishermen, hunter, dog walker. :)

Hang in there @TheCollector Hope your appointment tomorrow goes well and you get some good news. (y)

@TheCollector good luck with the shoulder and the diagnosis. I’m sitting here 4 weeks pot-op total knee replacement and the first 2 weeks were a PITA but the past 2 weeks have been better. I had my other one done 18 months ago and the quality of life improvement was tremendous. At some point I need to have my shoulder repaired also. Oh and I’m younger @58 but have done stupid things my whole life.

And the Norma Tac-22 even turns my Buckmark into a jammomatic! It must be whatever the lubricant is they put on the cases. I'm going to clean a box up for Saturday and run them in the High Standard.

While waiting for some polyurethane to dry, and even though it is extremely entertaining to watch paint dry, I snuck away to the range. Took the EB Custom. and the High Standard. I cleaned all the lube off of the Tac-22 and still it jams this up on every round FTE, FTE, FTE. Going to put the rest of the 2000+ rounds up for sale as the Buckmark doesn't play well with it either.

That Norma ammo is priced at $9 or $9.99 at my local Academy. It appears not to be selling at all for the last year or more.

Looks like the reason may be more than just the price.

Spent a little quality range time this morning with the P365XL Spectre Comp... the comp really does make a difference, she is a sweet shooter!
Target, first shot of the day at 7yds from concealment... and yes, all the other shots went there as well! lol

I learned a trick for just this issue from a competitor at a steel match last summer. Put some cartridges in a tray, squirt a little Liquid Wrench in/on it/them and swirl them around. It softens up the lube/wax and makes them come out of the mag and into the chamber much more smoothly. It's worse when it's colder, I suspect. This should help with that issue.

In the month or so since I had my knee replaced I’ve bought two pistols. The first one was a Wilson Combat SFX9 4” and the other a slightly used Shado Systems CR918. The main motivation for the Shadow System 918 was that it had a red dot (Holosun 507) on it and I have been interested in trying a dot mounted pistol. While I still need to work on the dot some more I can see the attraction of dot mounted pistols. Both pistols performed flawlessly, 150 rounds through the SS 918 and 250 rounds through the Wilson, yes I prefer the 1911 style pistol. I’m not sure either will replace my trusty ULCC for daily carry but that SFX9 will probably get some carry time once it gets another couple hundred rounds through it.

Hit the range/ffl this morning for a pick-up, had conjugal with the Ghost and tried out newly installed 509T. First rounds through @MDP Custom. Both performed excellent, great way to start the day...

I cleaned them with brake cleaner, there was nothing left on them. Then I wiped very little Kroil on them with a patch.
Giving up on these I think.

Know the history on this beauty?
Clark Sr 60’s full house build on an H suffix colt kit. From the insignia engraved in the grip it came with, the last owner was a serviceman. I also have the name of the marksman it was built for. Might have been Cook tho I don’t trust my memory on this one. Data is in the safe. The banner is in French and tho my grip on that language is weak, I think it reads “the eyes of the division”
Truth told, I brought 5 different mid range 38’s to the range yesterday…this one outshined all by far.
